Heard of a TV causing fire? Answer our quick poll at the bottom.
This is my concerning story. All I want is Samsung to tell me why my TV shot out fire in my bedroom. But all we'll talk about is that my TV was old and not worth much. And I should just try to use the other items that were plugged into my TV when it caused an electrical fire. Just plug 'em in and see what happens. 🤷♂️
Samsung came into my dining room and did a thorough inspection and photoshoot of the inside, taking out every tiny circuit board, including but not limited to the small part that had obvious fire damage. But they will not tell me what triggered the inside of the TV to catch fire. Just that the TV was old and not worth much, but they'll try to repair it if I want.
Wanna know what I did before it started spewing fire? I simply pressed the power button... on the remote... while I was laying in bed across the room. What can I say; I goofed. 🤦♂️ What reasonable person would expect to be able to hit a button on a TV remote and not get flames in your bedroom?

This is a fraction of the photos/videos I took while the (very nice) Samsung representatives were taking my TV apart on my dining room table amidst our birthday party preparations. But what did they find? I dunno. Tell me.
The parts in highlighted in red are not supposed to be black. They got black after they set themselves on fire.
But I will assume positive intent. Maybe the electronics didn't mean to cause harm. Maybe it's agony for them to be inside a Samsung TV, and self-explosion was their last resort after losing all hope of liberation? Until Samsung tells me, I'll just go with that.
And for good measure, here's a photo of the (very nice) Samsung representative holding up the TV so they could photograph the visible black char on the back of the TV housing.
